Wabanaki Two-Spirit Alliance: Transgender Advisory Committee
🍁🔶🦁🎣🥔🐕 Wabanaki Territory
Website | E-mail
"The Wabanaki Two-Spirit Trans advisory committee is being created to identify the barriers and limitations of accessibility of gender-affirming care (GAC) and accessibility to proper health care for Two-Spirit Trans individuals in the Wabanaki territory. GAC is a unique and individual journey which requires an experienced and well-versed health and wellness team to ensure the health and safety of every individual who is seeking care. Identifying deficits and barriers in accessing GAC in Wabanaki provinces.
The need for cultural inclusivity in GAC for 2S Trans individuals is greatly in demand. The resurgence of 2S identity in the last decade has given us the foothold to stand and let our voices and needs be heard. With these voices, we hear the needs of our community and the need to reconnect with our ceremonies and healing is imperative. This committee will help create the dialogues needed to identify the barriers to care and will also create the blueprint for Etuwaptumk gender-affirming care."
